Yes. Lessi operates as a school official under FERPA and we sign Data Processing Agreements with districts before any school-wide access. Student interaction data is never used to train AI models, all processing occurs within Azure's US-based infrastructure, and each district's data is stored in isolation from other customers. We support district vendor review processes and can provide documentation to IT or compliance teams on request.
No — and that's intentional. Lessi is a planning and preparation layer that fits alongside your existing IEP management system, not a replacement for it. Teachers use Lessi to draft aligned lessons, scaffolds, and progress checks faster, then carry that work into whatever documentation system your district uses. There's no migration, no parallel database, and no data to move.
We structure pilots around a defined cohort — typically 5–20 teachers — with a 6–8 week timeline, clear usage goals, and a midpoint check-in. Onboarding takes about 90 minutes for most teams, and teachers report meaningful time savings within the first two weeks. At the end of the pilot we provide a summary of usage, teacher feedback, and a recommendation on how to scale. We don't disappear after sign-up.
Lessi processes student-related content only to generate the output a teacher requests, and that content is not retained after the interaction. No Lessi employee has routine access to what teachers type — access controls are role-based and audited via Azure Active Directory. We encrypt all data in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256), and network traffic stays within Azure Private Link endpoints. Your district's data is never commingled with another school's data.
School and district licenses include a live onboarding session, a library of self-paced setup guides, and direct access to our implementation team during the pilot. We can facilitate professional development sessions for larger teams and build a rollout plan that fits your PD calendar. After launch, support continues through a shared channel — most questions are answered within one business day.
We measure what matters to your team — typically teacher-reported prep time, volume of instructional materials produced, and alignment quality. Pilot reviews include a structured feedback summary you can share with leadership. We can also help you frame outcomes for your MTSS or special education department review process. If the pilot isn't producing results worth scaling, we'll tell you that directly.
